Overnight lane restrictions planned for westbound I-84 tonight west of Black Cat overpass
BOISE - Motorists traveling westbound I-84 between the Robinson Boulevard and Black Cat Road bridges should expect brief lane restrictions overnight (Wednesday,  Feb. 4). The Idaho Transportation Department is repairing a pothole in the old pavement.

The westbound inside lane will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The repair is part of a larger project to rebuild the interstate from Garrity to Meridian and add a third lane in both directions. The project is expected to be complete in 2010.

It is one of a series of improvements in the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for driving information on the state highway or interstate system.
