UPDATE: Bicycle and pedestrian mobility meeting added in Sandpoint Friday
BOISE - An addition forum in Sandpoint will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday (Feb. 13) for statewide bicycle and pedestrian mobility planning results to be presented and discussed. This will support the development of plans at the community, regional, and state levels, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The meeting will be at the transportation information office at 202 N. 2nd Ave., Ste. B

In late January, people around the state expressed their preferred vision for non-motorized mobility statewide, according to Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator Mark McNeese. Individuals interested in hearing the results of those discussions are invited to attend this public presentation.

"Once we come to agreement on our vision, then we'll start working on the building blocks that will need to exist to make it happen," said McNeese. "The vision we adopt will guide us into the future, so we need to make sure we get it right."

Tuesday's forum in Coeur d'Alene will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. at the City Hall Old Council Chambers, 701 E. Mullan, Second Floor.

The three forums on Thursday are as follows:

Lewiston - 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Community Center Activity Room 1, 1424 Main St.
Moscow - 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. City Hall, 2nd floor Council Chambers, 206 E 3rd
Sandpoint - 6 to 7 p.m. Former Federal Building, 1500 Hwy. 2

Similar discussions are planned in eastern Idaho the week of Feb. 23-27.

"Some great ideas were expressed during those January discussions," said McNeese. "I think people will be surprised at how consistent they were from city to city and region to region.

If you cannot make it to the presentation but would like to see the results, contact mark.mcneese@itd.idaho.gov or call 208-334-8272.
