Public comment sought on Middleton-area roads on Feb. 18
MIDDLETON - The City of Middleton will host a public meeting on Feb. 18 regarding road improvements planned for sections of North Middleton Road and Cemetery Road, located just north of Idaho 44 in Middleton.

At the Wednesday meeting, the city will present preliminary final conceptual designs for both road sections and gather public comments. Project construction is anticipated to take place in 2010. The plans are designed to improve traffic flow and safety for vehicles and pedestrians. Those plans include:
  • Adding or replacing sidewalk, curb and gutter.
  • Improving, and in some cases, installing street drainage.
  • On North Middleton Road, widening street sections to three travel lanes with parking and sidewalks on both sides of the street and adding bicycle lanes north of Main Street to Mill Creek.
  • On Cemetery Road, creating a new two-lane alignment over the current drainage ditch right-of-way and terminating North Highland Road in a cul-de-sac to the north.
The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Trolley Station, 310 East Main St., in Middleton (across from Middleton City Hall). It will begin with an open house. A presentation regarding the North Middleton Road design plans will begin at 5:30 p.m. and one regarding the Cemetery Road design plans will begin at 6 p.m. Both presentations will be followed by a public comment opportunity.
