Overnight delays expected on I-84 next week at Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa
BOISE -  Motorists can expect overnight traffic delays on I-84 next week from Monday through Thursday (Feb. 23-Feb. 26) near the Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa. The Idaho Transportation Department is working on the existing bridge deck that was built in 1999.

Weather permitting, the nights of Feb. 23 and 24 (Monday and Tuesday), westbound I-84 will be closed under the Franklin Boulevard Bridge. The nights of Feb. 25 and 26 (Wednesday and Thursday), eastbound I-84 will be closed under the bridge. Closures will begin at 10 p.m. each night and end at 5 a.m. the following morning.

Each night, traffic will exit and re-enter I-84 using the on- and off-ramps at the Franklin Boulevard Interchange. Flaggers will direct traffic.

The Franklin Boulevard Bridge project is expected to be complete this summer and will allow future widening on I-84.

Concrete Placing Company Inc. of Boise is the contractor for this $3.1 million project.

Improvements to I-84 between Franklin and Garrity will depend on future funding through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
