U.P.R.R. 16th Avenue Bridge in Nampa to be improved in project beginning Wednesday
BOISE - A project to repair the Union Pacific Railroad 16th Avenue Bridge in Nampa is expected to begin Wednesday (April 1), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Traffic-control measures will take place this week (warning signs placed on both ends of the project and on side streets), with work on the project starting Monday (April 6) on the two southbound lanes. Traffic will initially be shifted over to the two northbound lanes, with those lanes dedicated to maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction.
In addition to repairing the deck on this four-lane bridge, the work also includes replacing expansion joints and performing sidewalk replacement repairs on the 750-foot bridge.
Idaho Construction Company Inc. of Kimberly is the contractor on this $1 million project, which is expected to be completed this summer.
