Expect overnight restrictions this Friday through next Saturday (March 6-14) on I-84 between Garrity and Ten Mile
BOISE - I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between the Garrity and Ten Mile interchanges overnight Friday (March 6) through next Saturday (March 14). Crews for the Idaho Transportation Department are working on formwork stripping, sign placement, pipe work and guardrail placement.

Weather permitting, this work will be from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays and 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekends.

Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be open to motorists during daytime hours.

The work is part of a larger project to rebuild the interstate from Garrity to Meridian and add a third lane in both directions. The project is expected to be complete in 2010.

This work is also part of the Robinson and Black Cat bridge reconstruction project over I-84. This project is expected to be complete in early April.

These projects are funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for driving information on the state highway or interstate system.
