Overnight I-84 delays planned March 15-16 at Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa
BOISE - Motorists can expect traffic delays on I-84 overnight Sunday and Monday (March 15-16) near the Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa. The Idaho Transportation Department is installing guardrail for the new bridge.
Weather permitting, westbound I-84 will be closed under the bridge from 10 p.m. Sunday night to 5 a.m. Monday morning. Eastbound I-84 will be closed during the same hours Monday night to Tuesday morning.
Each night, traffic will exit and re-enter I-84 using the on- and off-ramps at the Franklin Boulevard Interchange. Flaggers will direct traffic.
The Franklin Boulevard Bridge project is expected to be complete by May and will allow future widening on I-84.
Concrete Placing Company Inc. of Boise is the contractor for this $3.1 million project.
Improvements to I-84 between Franklin and Garrity will depend on future funding through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
