I-84 lane restrictions expected Friday through Wednesday in Nampa and Meridian
BOISE - Motorists can expect intermittent overnight lane restrictions on I-84 between the Garrity and Meridian interchanges from Friday through next Wednesday, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The restrictions for both eastbound and westbound traffic  - one lane will remain open in each direction in the area - will allow crews to complete concrete work on the new Robinson and Black Cat bridges Friday and Saturday nights (March 20-21). Westbound traffic will be restricted to one lane to repair a pothole on I-84 near the Robinson bridge on Wednesday night (March 25).

Lane restrictions will be in effect overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and until 7 a.m. Saturday.

The work is part of major construction on I-84 between the Garrity to Meridian interchanges, including new bridges at Robinson Boulevard and Black Cat Road.

The projects are funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police encourage motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for driving information on the state highway or interstate system.
