Motorists should expect delays on Black Cat, Robinson bridges starting Monday through early April
BOISE -  Daytime traffic will encounter brief delays at the Black Cat Road and Robinson Boulevard bridges starting Monday (March 23) while crews complete paving, guardrail placement and drainage on both structures.

From 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both overpasses, only one lane will be open to motorists, and flaggers will direct traffic across the bridges. Delays are expected to last from one to five minutes.

Traffic interruptions are expected to end April 1, although inclement weather could delay the schedule.
All lanes will be open on the bridges at night.

The bridges opened earlier this month after both were reconstructed to accommodate new lanes on I-84. Both have operated with temporary pavement until warmer temperatures arrived.

The project is another significant milestone in the group of projects designed to improve I-84 between Nampa and Boise.

The contractor for this $8.5 million project is Graham Construction & Management Inc. of Spokane.

The project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite highway improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties may apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.Idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
