Overnight I-84 delays planned March 30-31 at Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa
BOISE - Motorists can expect overnight traffic delays on I-84 under the Franklin Boulevard Interchange the nights of Monday and Tuesday (March 30-31) as part of the Idaho Transportation Department's Franklin Boulevard Interchange project in Nampa. This will allow crews to install fencing, remove guardrail and finish the bridge deck.

Weather permitting, eastbound I-84 will be closed under the bridge overnight Monday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Westbound I-84 will be closed during the same hours overnight Tuesday.

Flaggers will be directing traffic each night. Drivers will exit and re-enter I-84 using the on- and off-ramps at the Franklin Boulevard Interchange.

The Franklin Boulevard Bridge project is expected to be complete this summer and will allow for future widening on I-84.

Concrete Placing Company Inc. of Boise is the contractor for this $3.1 million project.

Improvements to I-84 between Franklin and Garrity will depend on future funding through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
