Eastbound ramps will be closed overnight Saturday (April 4) at Meridian Interchange
BOISE - Motorists heading eastbound on I-84 can expect closures at the Meridian Interchange overnight Saturday (April 4), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
From midnight Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday morning, the eastbound off-ramp and eastbound "loop" on-ramp will be closed for work under the interchange. The second eastbound on-ramp, accessible only from northbound Meridian Road, will remain open.
During the closures, construction workers will run a large pipe under the ramps. The work is part of the Garrity to Meridian project, which includes modifying the eastbound loop on-ramp to accommodate additional lanes on I-84.
Traffic on eastbound I-84 will be directed to exit at Eagle Road. Traffic on Meridian Road will be directed to take Franklin Road or Overland Road and access eastbound I-84 at the Eagle Interchange.
The project is part of a series of Interstate improvements planned between Caldwell and Meridian through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
