Eastbound off-ramp at Meridian Interchange closed overnight
BOISE - Motorists heading eastbound on I-84 can expect closures at the Meridian Interchange overnight tonight (Monday, April 6), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
From 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., crews will move equipment as the ramps are reconfigured for the overall freeway widening project. Although the eastbound off-ramp will be closed, both eastbound on-ramps will remain open.
The work is part of the Garrity to Meridian project, which includes modifications to accommodate additional lanes on I-84.
Traffic on eastbound I-84 will be directed to exit at Eagle Road.
The project is part of a series of Interstate improvements planned between Caldwell and Meridian through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
