Overnight I-84 delays planned Thursday-Friday near Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa
BOISE -- Motorists should expect delays on Interstate 84 near the Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa late Thursday night and early Friday morning (April 9-10), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The westbound inside lane (the passing lane) will be closed as crews haul material from the I-84 median.
The inside lane of westbound I-84 will be closed near the bridge starting at 10 p.m. Thursday. The lane is expected to re-open by 2 a.m. Friday.
The Franklin Boulevard Bridge project is expected to be complete later this month, facilitating future widening on I-84. Concrete Placing Company Inc. of Boise is the contractor for this $3.1 million project.
Improvements to I-84 between Franklin and Garrity will depend on future funding through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information about the state highway or interstate system.
