Eastbound I-84 on-ramp at Meridian Interchange will be closed overnight Sunday (April 12)
BOISE - The eastbound I-84 on-ramp from northbound Meridian Road will be closed overnight Sunday (April 12), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
From 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, motorists will be detoured to the on-ramp at Eagle Road. The second eastbound on-ramp, accessible from southbound Meridian Road, will remain open.
The Idaho Transportation Department must modify both eastbound on-ramps to accommodate additional lanes on I-84 from Garrity to Meridian.
Starting Monday morning, traffic on northbound Meridian Road will use a temporary ramp to access eastbound I-84 for several weeks.
The second eastbound on-ramp will be modified later this month.
The I-84, Garrity to Meridian widening project is part of a series of Interstate improvements planned between Caldwell and Meridian through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
