REMINDER: Eastbound I-84 on-ramp at Meridian Interchange will be closed overnight Tuesday (April 28)
BOISE - The eastbound I-84 on-ramp from northbound Meridian Road will be closed overnight Tuesday (April 28), the Idaho Transportation Department announced, as crews make modifications to accommodate additional lanes on I-84 from Garrity to Meridian.
From 8 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday, motorists will be detoured to the on-ramp at Eagle Road. The eastbound loop on-ramp, accessible from southbound Meridian Road, will remain open.
The on-ramp from northbound Meridian Road has been completed. The loop on-ramp will be modified over the next few weeks.
The I-84, Garrity to Meridian widening project is part of a series of Interstate improvements planned between Caldwell and Meridian through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
