Blue Lakes construction moves into Pole Line intersection Wednesday
TWIN FALLS - Installation of a storm water sewer system under Blue Lakes Boulevard continues to move south and will impact traffic at the intersection with Pole Line Road beginning Wednesday evening (April 29), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Traffic control set up is expected to begin at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday with trenching to follow. Crews have trenched from the Snake River Canyon to the north side of Pole Line Road in recent weeks in what is the first phase of the Falls Avenue to Pole Line Road reconstruction project.
Work in the intersection is expected to take place overnight between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday if needed. Crews are required to be out of the intersection by 6 a.m. each day. Regular through and turn lanes will be restricted and controlled by signs and flaggers.
The trench will be filled with dirt and gravel so traffic can cross through the construction zone, but drivers need to use caution over the bumpy section. Drivers are reminded to obey any flaggers and temporary traffic control devices throughout the construction zone.
Beginning as soon as next week, Blue Lakes will be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction as crews rip up the southbound lanes to install the storm water sewer system, allow utilities to make repairs and replacements, and reconstruct the road.
