Construction to begin Monday on I-86 eastbound off-ramp near American Falls
POCATELLO - A six-week project to reconstruct and realign an Interstate 86 off-ramp near American Falls is scheduled to begin Monday (May 4), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

King Excavation of Caldwell is the contractor for the project, estimated to cost around $350,000. Work will include reconstructing, realigning and extending the eastbound ramp at Exit 44, the Seagull Bay off-ramp from I-86 in Power County.

Improving the off-ramp will provide a longer decelerating lane for commercial vehicles exiting the interstate, enhancing safety for truck and passenger traffic.

Construction will result in a 12-foot width restriction on I-86. A detour has been designated from Exit 40 that will carry traffic on County Frontage Road, also known as Lakeview Road, to the Seagull Bay interchange.

The project should be complete by late June.
