Expect overnight restrictions on Meridian Road Overpass Tuesday
BOISE - Meridian Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction overnight on the I-84 overpass from 8 p.m. Tuesday (May 5) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (May 6), weather permitting.
The lane restrictions are part of the Idaho Transportation Departments project to widen I-84 from Garrity to Meridian. Both eastbound on-ramps at Meridian Road must be modified to accommodate additional lanes on I-84.
This project is one of a series of improvements in the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
Widening is expected to be complete in 2010.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
