Pocatello's Hiline to close Wednesday as part of bridge, widening project
POCATELLO - Hiline Road will be closed between Chubbuck Road and Flandro Drive in Pocatello beginning Wednesday as part of the Interstate 86/Hiline Road project, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The closure will continue through Sunday (May 10).
In addition to the Hiline closure, eastbound I-86 traffic will be shifted over to the westbound lanes so crews can remove and begin replacing the I-86 eastbound bridge over Hiline Road.
The longer replacement bridge will accommodate widening and the addition of a third lane to Hiline below the bridge. Construction of the new eastbound bridge will take place this summer and should be complete by the end of October.
A similar process will be required next year to remove and replace the westbound bridge.
