Motorists should expect overnight lane closures on eastbound Interstate 84 next week
BOISE - Motorists should expect intermittent overnight lane restrictions on eastbound I-84 between Nampa and Meridian this coming week (the week of May 11-15), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The eastbound left lane will periodically be closed at night between the Garrity and Meridian interchanges while crews work on the Meridian Interchange bridge piers.

The work is part of the Garrity to Meridian widening project, which is one in a series of I-84 improvements funded by the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
