East Fork Road reconstruction to begin Monday
HAILEY - Reconstruction of East Fork Road in Blaine County will begin on Monday (May 18), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
When completed in early August, the one-mile section of East Fork Road between the Big Wood River Bridge and a point near Ranch Lane will include two 11-foot travel lanes and two 5-foot painted bike lanes. Disturbed areas within the right of way will be seeded with grasses and native vegetation later this fall.
Crews are on site this week completing a preliminary construction survey and performing construction slope work. Installation of traffic control and the beginning of construction activities will follow.
The contractor will be hosting the first weekly public meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday (May 14) at the Ketchum Rural Fire Department Greenhorn Station on Idaho 75 near East Fork Road. The weekly meetings will serve as informational sessions for local residents and interested citizens. Discussions will be limited to weekly construction schedules and any related delays.
Beginning May 21, the contractor will hold the public meetings at 1:30 p.m. each Thursday at Greenhorn Station for the duration of construction.
Idaho Sand and Gravel of Jerome is the contractor on the $900,000 reconstruction. ITD is administrating the Blaine County sponsored, federally-funded project.
