Motorists can expect delays at Meridian Interchange May 15-19 as eastbound ramps are reconfigured
BOISE - Eastbound I-84 travelers will have limited access to and from Meridian Road through this weekend and early next week. The Idaho Transportation Department is reconfiguring the on- and off-ramps to match new lanes on I-84.
- From midnight Friday (May 15) to 6 a.m. Sunday (May 17), the loop on-ramp that motorists access from southbound Meridian Road will be closed.
- From 8 p.m. Saturday (May 16) to 5 a.m. Sunday (May 17), the on-ramp that motorists access from northbound Meridian Road will be closed.
- From 8 p.m. Monday (May 18) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (May 19), the eastbound I-84 off-ramp at Meridian Road (Exit 44) will be closed.
During the ramp closures, signs will direct motorists to enter and exit at the Eagle Road Interchange.
I-84 may be restricted at night (10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays and until 7 a.m. on weekends) to one lane in both directions.
ITD is adding a third east- and westbound lane to I-84 between the Garrity and Meridian interchanges. Motorists can expect slight traffic changes over the next few weeks while the new lanes are paved.
The project is one of a series of improvements in the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
