Nighttime paving work to begin Monday (June 8) on U.S. 95 in Sandpoint
COEUR D'ALENE - State maintenance crews will begin paving operations at the corner of First Avenue and Superior Street on U.S. 95 in Sandpoint on Monday (June 8), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Work will take place at night and is expected to last through Thursday (June 11).

The old pavement will be removed in three separate sections and replaced with a new asphalt surface. Traffic will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each evening. Flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone area. Work is being done at night so as not to interfere with daytime construction on the Sand Creek Byway project.

The work is part of ITD's ongoing maintenance of the state highway system.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
