Government Way in Coeur d'Alene to close starting Monday (June 22) for U.S. 95 road realignment project
COEUR d'ALENE - Government Way, east of U.S. 95, will be closed Monday (June 22) at 6:30 a.m. to accommodate reconstruction of the U.S. 95/Government Way intersection for the U.S. 95, Idaho 53 to Ohio Match Road project, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The Government Way access to U.S. 95 will remain closed until Friday (July 31) to facilitate the relocation of existing underground utilities, upgrade existing storm drains, and realign the pedestrian/bike path. New traffic signals will be installed, and Government Way also will be realigned.
Detours to U.S. 95 from Government Way will be available by accessing Boekel Road (non-signalized) or Hayden Avenue (signalized).
The project will widen and realign U.S. 95 from Idaho 53 to Ohio Match Road.
The contractor for this $13 million project is Central Washington Asphalt, of Moses Lake, Wash.
The project is anticipated to be complete by September 2009.
