Construction update for eastern Idaho, July 27-Aug. 2

RIGBY - Here is the eastern Idaho highway construction update for July 27-Aug. 2:

Sunnyside I-15 Interchange to I-15B Traffic on Interstate 15 south of Idaho Falls is one lane in each direction between mileposts 114 and 120. The speed limit is 55 mph. Idaho Construction of Kimberly is the contractor for the $23 million project scheduled for completion by fall 2006.

U.S. 20, Hitt and St. Leon interchanges The new highway alignment over recently built interchanges at Hitt and St. Leon Roads, north of Idaho Falls, is being paved. Excavation continues for the new on- and off- ramps and access roads. Traffic is one lane in each direction, and the speed limit is 55 mph between mileposts 311 and 313. Western Construction of Boise is building the $19 million project, which is scheduled for completion by this fall.

U.S. 20/Holbrook Road Work on U.S. 20 south of Rigby to permanently close the Holbrook intersection is complete except for the seal coat. The seal coat is scheduled for mid-August after a new light pole is installed.

Idaho 33, Canyon Creek Bridge Steel girders have been placed and the concrete deck is being poured for the new bridge over Canyon Creek east of Newdale. Traffic is being routed over the old bridge. The speed limit is 45 mph. Sletten Construction of Great Falls, Mont., is scheduled to complete the $4.3 million project by fall.

Idaho 33, Teton East and West Zollinger Construction of Rexburg has begun paving the highway from Sugar City to Newdale. Traffic is one-way, guided by pilot car. The speed limit is 35 mph.

I-15, Hamer to Dubois, northbound Traffic is one lane in both directions between mileposts 150 and 168 while the northbound lanes of I-15 are paved. Western Construction of Boise is the contractor on the $5.2 million project, scheduled for completion by Labor Day.

Idaho 32, Fremont County line to Ashton This paving project on Idaho 32 extends from its junction wtih Idaho 47 east of Ashton to the Fremont County line. Traffic is one-way, guided by pilot car. The project is expected to be complete by Aug. 5.
