Eastbound I-84 lanes at Meridian will be shifted this weekend; expect lane, ramp closures
BOISE - The eastbound I-84 off-ramp at Meridian Road (Exit 44) will be closed from 8 p.m. Sunday (July 12) to 5 a.m. Monday (July 13) while interstate traffic is shifted to new pavement, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Eastbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Motorists can continue to expect slight traffic shifts over the next few weeks. The work is part of a project to widen I-84 to three lanes in both directions between the Garrity and Meridian interchanges.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2009. It is one of a series of improvements in the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
