Overnight lane restriction set for Tuesday (July 14) on westbound I-84 near Orchard
BOISE - Motorists should expect one westbound lane to be restricted overnight on I-84 near the Orchard Interchange Tuesday (July 14) as Idaho Transportation Department crews work on a new bridge as part of the interchange reconstruction.
The lane will be restricted from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Construction on the Orchard Interchange is expected to be completed in spring 2010.
The $15.1 million project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
