Southwest Idaho highway construction report for Aug. 14-20
BOISE - Following is the southwest Idaho highway construction report for Aug. 14-20:

ADAMS COUNTY
U.S. 95 New Meadows to Cattle Crossing
This project will rehabilitate deteriorated pavement on U.S. 95 from its junction with Idaho 55 in New Meadows north seven miles to Cattle Crossing. The speed limit is 35 mph in the work zone. Valley Paving and Asphalt Inc. is the contractor for this $2.2 million project.

BOISE COUNTY
Idaho 55 Horseshoe Bend turn lane
This project widens Idaho 55 through Horseshoe Bend, adding a continuous left-turn lane. A seal coat will be applied through town and past the port of entry just north of Horseshoe Bend as the last work of the project. Idaho Sand and Gravel is the contractor for this $800,000 project that is expected to be complete in September.

CANYON COUNTY
Interstate 84, Karcher Interchange
A new interchange will be built to serve businesses, commuters and residents in the west side of Nampa and surrounding areas. The project includes a five-lane interchange overpass to connect a new section of Idaho 55 with Karcher Road going past its intersection with Caldwell Boulevard. Current work includes clearing the ground, tree removal, fence removal, demolition and installation of sediment control devices. Aside from increased truck traffic in the area, traffic impacts are minimal. The interchange is expected to be open for traffic by winter 2006-7. Central Paving Inc. of Boise is the contractor for this $30 million project.

ELMORE COUNTY
Idaho 51, milepost 85 to I-84B, Mountain Home
This project consists of repaving Idaho 51 near Mountain Home. Mainline paving is complete. Crews are working on approach paving, striping, shoulder grooming and final touch-up items. All lanes will remain open during commute hours, 6-9 a.m. and 4-7 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Idaho Sand and Gravel is the contractor for this $1.6 million project that is expected to be complete in August.

VALLEY COUNTY
McCall East-West Loop
This new route through McCall will provide an alternative crossing of the North Fork of the Payette River for local traffic. The project is scheduled to be complete this fall.

Idaho 55, Round Valley to Clear Creek
This project will rehabilitate deteriorated pavement on Idaho 55 from Round Valley to Clear Creek (mileposts 101-107) beginning Monday (Aug. 15). The speed limit is reduced to 45 mph in the work zone. Flaggers and pilot cars will assist motorists. Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes. The project is expected to be compete this fall.

WASHINGTON COUNTY
Cambridge, U.S. 95, Idaho 71 pavement rehabilitation
This project will rehabilitate pavement on U.S. 95 and Idaho 71 through Cambridge. Other work includes guardrail improvements, some curb and gutter work, minor drainage improvements and minor work on the bridges over Pine Creek, Spring Creek, Rush Creek and the Weiser River. The project is expected to be complete this fall.
