Hanley Avenue at 4th Street and Davenport Street to close beginning Monday (July 20)
COEUR d'ALENE -- Hanley Avenue will be closed at the intersections of 4th and Davenport streets beginning Monday (July 20), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.  The closure will allow utility workers to begin lowering gas lines and relocating utilities as part of a resurfacing project on Hanley.

Eastbound traffic on Hanley will be rerouted south on Colfax Street to Dalton Avenue and then east to Mt. Carrol Street.  Motorists will then be directed north on Mt. Carrol to reconnect with Hanley Avenue.

Traffic moving west on Hanley Avenue will be rerouted south on Mt. Carrol to Dalton Avenue and then west to Colfax Street to reconnect with Hanley Avenue.

Construction will begin Monday at 7 a.m.  The contractor will work Mondays through Fridays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone area. Motorists are urged to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply.

The contractor for this $500,000 local road project is Interstate Concrete and Asphalt of Coeur d'Alene. The City of Dalton Gardens is the local agency sponsor.  The project is expected to be complete this fall.
