Westbound I-84 will be closed in east Boise overnight both Sunday and Monday (July 26-27)
BOISE - Westbound traffic on I-84 will detoured overnight both Sunday and Monday nights (July 26-27) from the Gowen
Interchange to the Orchard Interchange as the Idaho Transportation Department relocates a Dynamic Message Sign (DMS).
The detour will take place between midnight and 4 a.m. each night. Click here for a map of the detour.
The DMS is being moved from its current location on westbound I-84 between the Vista
and Orchard interchanges to a new location at I-84 westbound between the Gowen
and Broadway interchanges.
The relocation is necessary to allow room for the widening project of both east- and westbound lanes between the Cole/Overland and Broadway Interchanges scheduled to begin in September 2009.
Motorists should watch for detour signs
and flaggers near the Gowen Road Interchange.
Quality Electric, Inc. of Boise is the contractor for the
$312,000 project.
ITD and the Idaho
State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in
work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists
are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for
information on the state highway or interstate system.
