Expect lane restrictions on I-84 tonight (Monday, July 27) near Vista Interchange
BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department advises
motorists to drive with caution tonight (Monday,
July 27), when Interstate 84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
Both an east- and westbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m.
to 5 a.m. to allow crews to place guardrail on the interstate near the Vista
Interchange.
ITD advises motorists to watch for trucks entering and
exiting the median.
The project is located off I-84 near the Boise Airport.
The I-84 Vista Avenue Interchange, which was constructed in
1969, is being reconstructed to ease congestion, increase safety and improve
traffic flow.
Construction is expected to be complete in September 2010.
The contractor for the $17.8 million project is Central
Paving Inc. of Boise.
Project construction is funded through the federal stimulus
program, created to generate jobs and help boost Idaho's economy while upgrading
our foundation for future economic growth.
ITD and
the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when
driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties
apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit
511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
