UPDATE: Closures and restrictions tonight on I-84 near Gowen, Vista
BOISE -- Westbound I-84 will be closed near the Gowen Interchange from midnight tonight (Monday, June 27) to 4 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, July 28) while the Idaho Transportation Department moves a large electronic message sign into place. The closure will not affect traffic at the Broadway and Vista interchanges as it did last night (July 26).
During the closure, westbound interstate traffic at the Gowen Interchange will be detoured all the way to the Orchard Interchange.
In addition, near the Vista Interchange, traffic in both directions will be restricted to one lane from 10 p.m. tonight (Monday, July 27) to 5 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, July 28) for guardrail placement.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
