MEDIA ADVISORY: Gov. Otter to lead groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday (Aug. 5) for new Interstate 84/Vista Interchange
BOISE - Governor
C.L. "Butch" Otter will lead a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday (Aug. 5) at
10 a.m. to start construction of the new Interstate 84/Vista Interchange. The $17.8 million project will create jobs, stimulate economic activity, improve motorist
safety and reduce congestion.
The interchange construction is funded with federal stimulus money and is
estimated to sustain or create approximately 320 jobs. The Vista Interchange is
a primary access to the Boise airport, downtown Boise and Boise State University.
The ceremony will be held near the northwest corner of the interchange. To get there, take Vista to Elder Street, which is just north of the Texaco Gas Station directly north of the interchange. Go west on Elder and watch for flaggers and signs to direct you into the ceremony lot, which is adjacent to the Hampton Inn at Shoshone Street.
Gov. Otter and other event participants will be available following the groundbreaking to address your questions.
Camera crews are asked to arrive no later than 9:50 a.m. For your convenience, an area will be reserved for you to set cameras.
