Paving projects to begin Monday (Aug. 3) on U.S. 2 east of Moyie Springs and U.S. 95 in Bonners Ferry

COEUR D'ALENE - Idaho Transportation Department maintenance crews will begin paving operations on U.S. 2 east of Moyie Springs on Monday (Aug. 3). The project is expected to take three days. Crews will then move to the northbound lane on U.S. 95 in Bonners Ferry Aug. 6 to overlay about one-half mile of the highway.

Approximately six miles of roadway surface, from Moyie Springs to the Montana state line, will receive a new overlay of asphalt. Crews will be working Monday through Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane and flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone area.

The work is part of the department's ongoing maintenance of the state highway system.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
