BOISE - The eastbound I-84 on-ramp at Orchard Street will be restricted
to one lane while crews work overnight each of the next four nights (Aug. 4-7). The Idaho Transportation
Department reminds motorists to drive with care.
The outside ramp lane will be closed overnight from 10
p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Friday nights. Crews place asphalt and remove guardrail.
Construction is
expected to be complete in spring 2010.
The $15.1 million
Orchard Street Interchange project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation
Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to
expedite interstate improvements.
ITD
and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when
driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties
apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit
