Chinden Update: westbound traffic restricted from Connector to Veterans
BOISE -- All of the eastbound seal coat work has been done, and the final layer of rock and oil is being applied to the westbound lanes between the east end of Chinden (the Connector ramps) and Veteran's Memorial Parkway late this afternoon. The Idaho Transportation Department anticipates the seal coat work to be completed early this evening, with a final fog coat layer being applied starting early tomorrow (Wednesday, Aug. 12) morning.

The fog coat is expected to begin around 5 a.m., but will not involve the degree of traffic interference previously experienced in the area. A week later, the entire stretch will be re-striped.

Snake River Construction of Twin Falls is the contractor on this $1.4 million project.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
