Orchard Street Update: Lane restrictions planned overnight Thursday (Aug. 13)
BOISE - North Orchard Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction for overnight work Thursday night (Aug. 13). The lane restrictions are part of the Idaho Transportation Department's project to rebuild the Orchard Interchange.
Crews will work from 10 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 13) to 5 a.m. Friday (Aug. 14) to prepare for the new curb, gutter and sidewalk.
The $15.1 million Orchard Street Interchange project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
Construction is expected to be complete in spring 2010.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down
and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines
and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial
5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate
system.
