Chinden Update: Fog coat expected to be finished tomorrow (Thursday, Aug. 13)
BOISE -- The seal coat work on Chinden Boulevard is expected to be done by early afternoon tomorrow (Thursday, Aug. 13). The Idaho Transportation Department says crews will finish at Joplin Road by late afternoon or early evening today, and then will apply a fog coat on the last remaining section - from Joplin to Eagle Road tomorrow morning beginning at around 5 a.m.

During the work, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction. However, the work will move along the highway quickly and traffic will be restored as the work progresses.

A week from now, the entire stretch will be re-striped.

Snake River Construction of Twin Falls is the contractor on this $1.4 million project.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
