Orchard Street update: Lane closure planned on eastbound I-84 Tuesday (Aug. 18) overnight
BOISE - An eastbound lane on Interstate 84 will be closed near the Orchard Interchange on Tuesday night (Aug. 18). The Idaho Transportation Department reminds motorists to drive with caution through the work area.
The outside eastbound lane will be closed while crews work overnight from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 19). Crews are working on the eastbound on-ramp near the interchange.
The $15.1 million Orchard Street Interchange project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
Construction is expected to be complete in spring 2010.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down
and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines
and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial
5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate
system.
