Repairs will close Pancheri Drive overpass, I-15 lanes below the bridge Wednesday (Aug. 19)
RIGBY - Repairs will close the Pancheri Drive overpass and reduce travel lanes on Interstate 15 below the bridge south of Idaho Falls Wednesday (Aug. 19), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday, crews will seal cracks in the deck with epoxy resin and spread fine sand over the surface to add texture. The bridge, which connects 17th Street and Pancheri Drive over I-15, will remain closed most of the day as sealant cures. The overpass is expected to reopen at 4:30 p.m.

Crews will close the east side of the overpass at South Pioneer Road and the west side of the overpass at South Colorado Avenue. Westbound traffic will detour along Utah Avenue to Broadway and Skyline. Eastbound traffic will travel the same route in reverse.

Traffic beneath the overpass (milepost 116) on the interstate will be limited to one lane in each direction during the maintenance operation.

Motorists should drive carefully and obey traffic signs. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5‑1‑1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on projects on state and federal highways.
