Construction on Idaho 47 in Warm River to start Monday (Aug. 24)
RIGBY - Construction on Idaho 47 in Warm River will start on Monday (Aug. 24), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Crews will replace 200 feet of the highway surface just west of milepost 9 in Warm River. The replacement will include a new road base and pavement.
This segment of highway has become unstable, subject to extreme frost heave in the winter, softening in the spring and breakup in the summer.
Travel will be reduced to one lane, with flaggers directing traffic around the work zone. The speed limit in the construction area will be reduced to 35 mph.
A width restriction of 10 feet will be in force for commercial vehicles. Work will take place Mondays through Thursdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
During construction, motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
The project is scheduled for completion by Sept. 4.
