New Meadows alert: work at U.S. 95/Idaho 55 intersection to start Sept. 14
NEW MEADOWS - The intersection of U.S. 95 and Idaho 55 in New Meadows will be reconstructed in an Idaho Transportation Department safety enhancement project starting Monday, Sept. 14.

Work will focus on the existing triangular intersection, as well as 200-300 feet of road work on each of the approaching legs of the intersection. The reconfiguration will replace the intersection with a standard four-way intersection.

The anticipated work schedule is:
Sept. 14 - survey and traffic control work at intersection
Sept. 15 - grinding/milling roadway surface
Sept. 16 - paving
Sept. 17 - Re-striping and clean up.

Traffic is not expected to be impacted initially by the Sept. 14 work, but flaggers are anticipated for the remainder of the project.

State maintenance crews will perform the work, along with a commercial paving contractor. The estimated cost of the work is not yet known, depending on fluctuating asphalt prices and necessary equipment rental.
