Traffic alert: flaggers to direct motorists at Vista Avenue/Airport Way intersection overnight Tuesday (Sept. 8)
The Idaho Transportation Department suggests motorists plan ahead to avoid delays.
Crews will be working on the new traffic signal at the intersection.
The I-84 Vista Avenue Interchange, built in
1969, is being reconstructed to ease congestion, increase safety and improve
traffic flow.
The contractor for the $17.8 million project is Central Paving Inc. of Boise.
The construction is funded through the federal stimulus program, created to generate jobs and help boost Idaho's economy while upgrading the state's infrastructure for future economic growth.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow
down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding
fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and
dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or
interstate system.
