Public invited to comment on U.S. 20/26 at meetings in Caldwell and Parma (Oct. 21-22)

BOISE - The public is invited to comment on the management of U.S. 20/26 at open houses on Wednesday (Oct. 21) in Caldwell and Thursday (Oct. 22) in Parma.

The purpose of the U.S. 20/26 Corridor Study is to develop a near-term (through 2020) plan that identifies current and future highway needs for more than 14 miles of U.S. 20/26 running from I-84 near Caldwell west to Nyssa, Oregon and the Snake River.

Wednesday's meeting will be held at the Caldwell Public Library, 1010 Dearborn Street. Thursday's meeting will be held at the Kirkpatrick Memorial Community Church, 305 E. Bates in Parma. At both locations, there will be two identical meetings, the first from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and the second from 6 to 7 p.m. Those interested can attend either meeting.

The corridor study complies with ITD board policy, which also is consistent with federal planning guidance. The study and subsequent adopted plan will be used to chart U.S. 20/26 road improvements in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
