Expect delays on I-84 between Orchard and Broadway Sunday and Tuesday mornings
BOISE - Drivers should be prepared for delays and lane closures early Sunday morning (Dec. 13) and again Tuesday morning (Dec. 15) while crews move equipment on I-84 at the Vista Interchange. The Idaho Transportation Department is reconstructing the Vista Interchange.

 

Depending on the weather, one lane will be closed on east- and westbound I-84 starting at 3 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 13). Lane restrictions are expected to continue until 4 a.m. Sunday. During this time, drivers should be prepared for delays.

 

On Tuesday (Dec. 15) at 3 a.m. at least one lane will be closed on eastbound I-84 for one hour to move equipment into the median.

 

The interchange is being reconstructed to ease congestion, increase safety and improve traffic flow. The $17.8 million project is expected to be complete in Fall 2010. Central Paving Inc. is the contractor.

 

Construction is funded through the federal stimulus program, created to generate jobs and help boost Idahos economy while upgrading our foundation for future economic growth.

 

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
