I-84 alert: Nampa's Garrity westbound off-ramp will be closed overnight Thursday (Dec. 17) for electrical work
NAMPA - Weather permitting, the Garrity westbound off-ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday night (Dec. 17) while the Idaho Transportation Department activates lights on a new I-84 exit sign.
Motorists can
expect multiple lane closures on I-84 during this time. Another crew will be
sealing joints in the pavement between Ten Mile and Black Cat roads.
One lane will
always be open in both directions. All lanes will re-open by 5 a.m.
ITD has added a third east- and westbound lane between the Garrity and Meridian
interchanges. The project was funded by the GARVEE Transportation Program,
which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite
highway improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution
motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where
increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to
plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state
highway or interstate system.
