Expect overnight I-84 lane restrictions tonight, Sunday and Monday (Jan. 14, 17 and 18) near Vista Interchange
BOISE - Beginning tonight (Thursday, Jan. 14), one lane will be closed in each direction on Interstate 84 while crews work near the Vista Interchange as part of the Idaho Transportation Department's reconstruction project.

Drivers should expect lane closures between 10 p.m. tonight and 5 a.m. Friday (Jan. 15). One lane will be closed in each direction again overnight both Sunday and Monday (Jan. 17 and 18). All lanes will re-open by 5 a.m. the following mornings.

The lane closures are needed for bridge and guardrail work and pavement striping.

Also tonight, traffic will switch to a new configuration at the westbound off-ramp and the eastbound on-ramp. The switch was planned for earlier this week, but was rescheduled due to weather.

Construction is expected to be complete in September 2010.

The contractor for the $17.8 million project is Central Paving Co. Inc.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
