Bob Barton Road construction, closure begin Wednesday (Jan. 27)
TWIN FALLS - The reconstruction of Bob Barton Road, west from Jerome, will begin Wednesday (Jan. 27) and will require traffic to be detoured to 300 South Road, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Bob Barton Road (200 South Road) will be closed to through traffic from Lincoln Avenue/Golf Course Road to 400 West while the road is reconstructed and widened. Access will be maintained to Southern Idaho Marine and RV as well as limited access to homes throughout the project.

Crews will begin with pipe installation and excavation throughout the project limits. Road base and construction work will begin later this spring. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of May.

Western Construction of Boise is the contractor for the $2.75 million reconstruction. The project is sponsored by the Jerome Highway District with the contract being administered by ITD.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
