Railroad crossing work near Caldwell to close U.S. 20/26 Sunday (March 7)
CALDWELL - The Union Pacific
Railroad Crossing on U.S. 20/26 (Chinden Blvd) will be rebuilt Sunday (March 7).
Weather permitting, work will begin at 6 a.m. Sunday. Crews hope to complete the work by end of daylight Sunday evening, and must have the road open by 6 a.m. Monday.
The crossing is located at milepost 28
(about halfway between Middleton Road and Midway Boulevard adjacent to a metal
fabrication warehouse).
The highway will be closed during
this work. Motorists will be detoured south on Midland Boulevard to Linden, west to
Middleton, and then north to Chinden Boulevard. Eastbound traffic will take the same
route in reverse.
