UPDATE: I-84 sign installation work on Caldwell moves to Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb. 23-24)

BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department's I-84 sign installation work in Caldwell has moved up to Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb. 23-24). It had been slated for Wednesday and Thursday. The same work gets under way tonight (Monday, Feb. 22) and Tuesday (Feb. 23) in Mountain Home. Here are the details:

ITD advises motorists on I-84 in Mountain Home and in Caldwell to anticipate lane restrictions as crews prepare to install dynamic message signs (electronic reader boards) along the roadway for traveler information.

The signs are expected to be completely installed and fully operational by June.

One lane will be closed on I-84 westbound just east of Mountain Home (milepost 93) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. both days.

On I-84 eastbound in Caldwell near the new Karcher exit (milepost 32), one lane will be closed overnight both nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m..

The speed limit on the interstate will be reduced to 55 mph in both locations.
